Quick tip and Project Life Hello December digital download

Well I am sorry that I have not been keeping up with posting I will try harder/

1st you may have seen or heard of Chameleon pens. That change tone from pale to dark in one pen. Well you can do exactly the same with both your Stamp and Write ,markers and your Blendabilities pens.

So
Take a Stamp and Write marker and your stamp and write blender pen
or
The darkest or medium shade of any of the blendabilities sets and the blendability colour lifter pen

Remove the lids from both

Hold the coloured pen straight up with the tip up. Position the blender pen or colour lifter pen tip down onto the coloured pen tip count to 5. Start colouring with your pen. You will notice that the colour changes fro almost no colour to full colour strength. If you want a shorter colour change count to 3 or longer count to 7 etc.

The above was coloured with Darkest Cherry Cobbler and darkest Pumpkin Pie Blendabilities with the above technique.

This week I have also been catching up on Scrapping some of my old pics and I just had to use the Stampin' Up! project life Hello December Download.

I also used the Basic Rhinestones from The Basic Rhinestone and pearls download.

So thats it for today

Hopefully catch up with posting soon

Very very busy week

Well I am in the middle of sorting out my craftroom. In an effort to get a craftroom suitable for creating tutorial videos.

In the meantime I managed to get a few items created. So in the last 10 days I have been very busy.

1st we spent a day in Llandudno watching the Tour of Britain and I created this Digital Project Life layout using Project Life Everyday Adventure Digital download
Then I spent most of the next few days, sorting out craft stuff, and feeling quite stressed about how I  am going to get everything packed ready for the upheaval of getting the room ready to be painted and then get new furniture in.

So was quite pleased to spend time at Met madams which gave me a little bit of crafting time, where I was able to try out my new Gift Box Punch Board. Which I am totally enamored with. Its ace and this cute stack took less than 20 minutes.

I also bought the paper peircing templates that go with the Oval framlits. Now I must admit I hate paper peircing, and have never enjoyed it. I always ended up with less than sucessful results and it always took too long. After trying the templates, I was amazed at how easy it was and I was really happy with the results.

I have also been working towards the start of classes in Northwich, Cheshire and full details will soon be on my class pages.

So thats it for this post. I hope to be catching up with you later this week

Bye Bye for now

As I was printing of some vintage images for my Mum, I thought could I do something similar digitally with Stampin' Up! downloads.  I did not use My Digital Studio I used another digital editing program . as you can use Stampin' Up!s digital downloads with your favorite softwear

More Autumn winter catalog ideas

So I've been playing with more items that are in the Autumn Winter catalog which will be available to buy from on the 28th August.

Here is the 1st photo

The mat is embossed with Decorative Dots Embossing Folder. Corners of mat and card rounded with envelope punch board.
I used Nordic Noel Designer Series Paper.
Cut out with Tree punch, 3 times. Then fold in the middle and adhere  together to create 3d tree. " . Whisper white punched with 2 inch circle punch. Border and greeting is from Stampin' Up!s Project Life holiday cheer stamp set. I bent the border stamp as I put it onto the block, placed over punched circle. Border was a bit long so when you stamp (real red) position the start and finish where you will place the ribbon.Card edge inked with garden green, Mat inked with real red. Real red ribbon bow.

Second card also uses Nordic Noel papers,
I used the decorative dots embossing folder, and I think it was soft sky Stamp and write marker. . On the side of the embossing folder that has the dots indented I scribbled some small areas of blue marker with the side of the pen tip. Then gently smudged it with my fingers. Then ran it through the embossing folder.

For the snow drifts randomly cut  Dazzling Diamond paper  with a smooth curvy shape on one edge. layer two as shown across base of card trim any excess.

I cut out the houses from the Nordic Noel paper, I cut the red house just below the 1st window , then moved bottom up to hide 1st windows and adhered. Then adhered to card just behind top drift of snow with dimentionals. Then added second house with dimentionals with about 1 third of base behind snow drift and two thirds on top .  Stamped a tree with the Festival of trees stamp and punched it with Tree punch . The Joy is a die from the Wonderful Wreath framelits, (has a matching stamp set, and will be available as a bundle) I cut it once in red and once in Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer paper. Then I slightly offset moving offset up , down, left , right to create a calligraphy style shadow.

The next two cards both use White Christmas stamp set, Anyone who buys the White Christmas stamp set from me, will receive an e mail of these two card instructions.

Why I buy both the real stamp or paper and the digital stamp or paper

A customer recently asked why I buy both the real stamps and paper and the same digital stamps and paper.

Now unfortunatly I am not at home and could not do real hybrid crafting as I only have my computer available.

That is reason one.
When I only have my computer to play with  I can plan with my digital kits. Try out lots of options before finalising design without wasting a scrap of paper. Then create the  actual card with my real supplies.
Plus when the real papers are no longer available I still have them to print.

I have created a card front  and matching wrapping paper to show why having both the real supplies and the digital supplies enables you to be even more creative

So starting with the planning  I tried out loads of colourways, papers , border depths , before finalising my design. I plan to print off all the background layers . Then stamp and watercolour the top layer. The The papers I used were the Watercolor wonder papers , which I adore but are now retired , but as I have the digital ones I can still use them.  The middle paper was in the real "Watercolor wonder" DSP pack  although I decided to rescale (just because I could) but then I used another piece and altered the transparency for the back piece.  Which I think goes very well.

Now you may ask why do we need the real stamps and paper.  Well in relation to the stamps its really easy, there are loads of techniques that you can do with the real stamps that you can't do with digital stamps. Stamping and embossing . you can get special paper that you can do this with , but then you are limited to that paper, and there are techniques you can't do with that paper.
As yet I have not heard of anyone using angelina fibers with a digital stamp, or pressing it into uTEE etc. So I always have to have the real stamp. But then why have the digital.

If you have the digital stamp you have options to change the image. make it smaller , larger , thinner, fatter. So you can create your own matching backgrounds, wrapping paper , tags. I even make my own tissue tape to match the stamps.   All you need is a printer (inkjet) a peice of freezer paper, or the backing sheet from a sheet of labels , tissue paper and some different widths of old fashioned double sided tape.

1st you decide what size your tissue tape will be . You need to have doublesided tape the same width.
then you design your tissue tape. You can make tissue tape as long as your tissue paper. You will need to have more freezer paper sheets. Using doublesided tape you put them together to make a sheet as long as you need, making sure that you get tape right up to the edges. You will also need a clear space by your printer the same size.

You will have to create a custom file that length in your design softwear but, you can print lots of different tapes side by side to the width of your paper.

If any of your tape designs have words in them you will need to mirror that design.

Then you lay out your sheet of tissue on a flat surface near your computer. Print onto the shiny side of the freezer paper and then lay this on top of your tissue , hold steady with one hand while pressing all over with the other. Remove freezer paper. Turn tissue over apply doublesided tape in line with your printed tape. Trim along the edges of the tape.

So thats why I have the digital and the real stamps and papers.
